Arsenal are reportedly ready to step up their pursuit of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing the deal hinges on Leandro Trossard’s expected departure to Besiktas.

The Belgium international appears to be nearing the end of his Arsenal career after Besiktas reached an agreement with the Premier League champions over a permanent transfer. Trossard has already held discussions with the Turkish club and is now expected to make the final decision on whether to complete the move.

According to Romano, Arsenal are simply waiting for the “final green light” from Trossard before accelerating negotiations to bring Tzolis to the Emirates Stadium.

The Greece international has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s preferred replacement on the left wing after an outstanding campaign with Club Brugge. Reports suggest Arsenal are close to finalising a deal worth around £35 million, with sporting director Andrea Berta leading discussions.

Romano has also reiterated that Tzolis is keen on the move to north London. The 24-year-old is believed to have prioritised Arsenal ahead of other interested clubs, underlining his desire to work under Arteta and compete in the Premier League.

Tzolis enjoyed a superb season in Belgium, earning widespread praise for his goals, creativity and versatility across the front line. His performances have convinced Arsenal that he possesses the qualities needed to strengthen their attacking options.

Should Trossard’s move to Besiktas be completed in the coming days, Arsenal are expected to move quickly in an effort to secure Tzolis before rival clubs have the opportunity to enter the race for his signature.
