Arsenal’s home defeat to Wolves over the weekend once again pointed at their weak midfield and lack of creativity.

At the moment, coach Mikel Arteta is under pressure to perform as well as turn the loss to wins especially as they will be returning to the Uefa Europa League on Thursday.

A look at the Gunners team showed that the forwards may have not been getting good passes to score goals this season and this is as a result of lack of creativity from the midfielders.

There have been calls for Arteta to bring back German midfielder, Mesut Ozil, who has been missing in action for months to the team.

One of the individuals calling for Ozil’s return is former England midfielder, Jack Wilshere who believes the 32-year-old should be playing a more prominent role for Arsenal, as they continue to struggle on the domestic front.

Wilshere believes the presence of Ozil in the Gunners squad will see Aubameyang and Lacazette get good passes that will bring the goals.

”I think he’d be a big player in that team,” Wilshere told Sky Sports.

“I would love to see Ozil play in that team under Arteta but obviously that’s not happening at the moment. He could get on the ball and feed the likes of [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang and [Alexandre] Lacazette.

“I loved playing with him. He was a top player. It’s a shame, but what is happening is happening, and no one knows but I’m sure everyone will find out one day.”

Transfer Deal: Arsenal still want to sign RB Leipzig defender

Ozil happens to be one of the best midfielders in the world and known for his creativity as well as his ability to create good chances but he is out of favour under Arteta at Emirate stadium.
