Carragher criticised for suggesting Arsenal midfielder could leave

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has reacted Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher’s comment about midfielder Declan Rice.

Seaman criticised Carragher for suggesting that Rice could leave Emirates stadium in 2026.

According to the goalkeeper, Carragher was thinking far too much into the future.

In a statement via football podcast, the former England star said he found it unbelievable that the former Liverpool star said about Rice and the possibility of the midfielder leaving the North London club.

Seaman also pointed out that Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta have improved on the pitch

He opined that the improvement in the Gunners squad is a reason for Rice to remain at the club.

Recall that Rice impressed for the Gunners this season, especially during their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal game against the Spanish side Real Madrid.

The English midfielder scored two free kicks in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium to give Arsenal an edge against the 15-time champions.

Rice’s performance saw Arsenal Gunners secure a 5–1 aggregate scoreline after both legs.

The Gunners, were however, kicked out of the Champions League by French side Paris Saint Germain.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to action on Sunday when they host Newcastle United in the Premier  League.
