Arteta provides injury updates on Rice, Mosquera

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided update on Declan Rice and Cristhian Mosquera after they picked up injuries during their encounter against Brentford on Wednesday night.

Arteta in a post-match statement confirmed the duo would undergo further tests to learn the extent of the injury.

Recall that the Gunners maintained their spot at the top of the Premier League log with a 2-0 win against Brentford at the Emirates, but with ended with injury woes.

While Rice appeared to have sustained injury on the calf before he was brought off late on, defender Mosquera was substituted in the first half with a possible knee issue.

Addressing the press, Arteta revealed that further tests will take place on Thursday, saying: “Obviously it’s never good news. Declan had to come off, we don’t know. We have to see tomorrow what he’s got.

“Mosquera is the other one that is out. Obviously we have Gabriel and [Saliba] out as well. So we have to adapt.”

The injuries comes as the Gunners prepare to play against Aston Villa on Saturday, December 6.

They would hope to maintain their top form when they face Aston Villa this weekend.
