If Arsenal successfully complete the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, the talented midfielder is expected to slot straight into Mikel Arteta’s starting XI.

The Gunners are in the midst of a bold £200 million summer overhaul, targeting high-profile additions including Eze, Rodrygo, and Benjamin Šeško.

Sporting director Andrea Berta is spearheading the transfer activity, and should he secure all three signings, Arteta will face a series of positive selection dilemmas ahead of the new season. The club’s business began with the confirmed arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. While initially brought in as a back-up, Kepa is expected to provide serious competition to David Raya in goal.

Two further announcements are believed to be close, with Arsenal reportedly agreeing deals for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard. The latter move came after talks to extend Thomas Partey’s contract stalled.

Eze, known for his flair, technical ability, and creativity, would add a new dimension to Arsenal’s midfield or attacking line. His versatility would allow Arteta to rotate with ease while maintaining quality across multiple competitions.

Should Arsenal also land Rodrygo from Real Madrid and Šeško from RB Leipzig, the team would be significantly strengthened in both midfield and attack, putting them in a strong position to challenge for silverware on all fronts in the 2025/26 season. The next few weeks promise to be pivotal as Arsenal aim to finalise their ambitious summer business.
