Ahead of the January transfer window, former Arsenal stat Kevin Campbell has urged the club to sign Man Utd midfielder and the Netherlands in the person of Donny Van de Beek.

Campbell believes Van de Beek will play an active role at Emirate stadium if the Gunners move for him.

The Netherlands midfielder has been left frustrated at Old Trafford since joining the Red Devils from Ajax; he has not had enough playing games chances at the club and has been linked with moves away from the club because of this.

Campbell believes Van de Beek would be able to revive his career at a club at Arsenal as he urged the club to go all put for him in the coming transfer window.

“I only want what’s best for Arsenal and I believe Donny van de Beek can play, if given the opportunity,’ Campbell told The Highbury Squad.

“The boy can play. He wants out. I think this young man has super ability.

“He can play anywhere around the midfield – holding, at eight, and he can play attacking. We’ve got another one who is versatile – a plug-and-play player for us.”
