Premier League side Arsenal are not relenting in their quest to build a team capable of competing for the title, and they are set to sign one of their top targets.

The Gunners have been linked with some players ever since the transfer window opened, and they are reportedly close to the signing of Sporting Lisbon Benfica star Nuno Taveres.

However, this move doesn’t come easy as Arsenal overcame a late hijack from the Spanish side, Real Sociedad.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal expects to complete a £7million deal for the promising left-back in the coming days, but Real Sociedad tried to outsmart them.

The report stated that Real Sociedad came in with a late offer for Tavares, a deal worth more than Arsenal had offered.

However, they couldn’t hijack the deal with Tavares expected to complete his move in the next few days.

He will surely be a great addition to Mikel Arteta’s team that will not. Be appearing in any European competition for the first time in a decade.
