Arsenal Make Firm Transfer Decision as Real Madrid Continue Monitoring New Summer Signing

Arsenal have no intention of entertaining offers for new signing Piero Hincapie despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Gunners recently completed the signing of the 24-year-old Ecuador international from Bayer Leverkusen, handing Mikel Arteta his first major addition of the summer transfer window. Arsenal view Hincapie as a key part of their long-term plans and are determined to build their defence around the versatile centre-back, making it clear he is not available for transfer.

Interest from Real Madrid has not disappeared, however. Reports suggest Los Blancos’ highly respected chief scout, Juni Calafat, has continued to monitor Hincapie’s progress while attending matches at the Club World Cup in the United States.

Calafat was reportedly in Philadelphia to watch Ecuador’s clash with Ivory Coast, where Hincapie endured a difficult evening against highly-rated winger Yan Diomande. The Liverpool-linked youngster caused problems throughout the match with his pace and direct attacking play, although Arsenal remain fully confident in their new defender’s quality.

The Real Madrid scout is also believed to have travelled to New Jersey to watch Morocco’s draw with Brazil, using the opportunity to assess Arsenal target Ayyoub Bouaddi, who has emerged as one of the tournament’s standout young midfielders.

Despite continued interest from Europe’s elite, Arsenal’s position on Hincapie remains unchanged. Club officials are fully committed to the Ecuadorian international and have no plans to cash in after securing his signature. With Arteta looking to strengthen his squad ahead of another Premier League title challenge, Hincapie is expected to play a central role in Arsenal’s ambitions for the upcoming season.
