Arsenal have been given another reason to push ahead with a move for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, as the Greek international continues to impress amid growing transfer speculation.

The 24-year-old has emerged as one of the Gunners’ leading targets as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his options on the left flank ahead of the new season. Discussions over a deal worth around £35 million have reportedly taken place, with Arsenal closely monitoring the winger’s situation.

Tzolis has generated mixed opinions among supporters, largely because he remains relatively unknown to many Premier League fans despite an outstanding campaign in Belgium. However, the former Norwich City player has already experienced English football and has shown significant development since leaving Carrow Road.

His recent performances have only strengthened Arsenal’s interest, with the winger producing decisive moments that highlight the qualities Arteta is seeking. His combination of pace, direct dribbling, creativity and eye for goal has made him one of Europe’s most productive wide attackers.

Arsenal’s pursuit has gathered momentum as Leandro Trossard edges closer to a move to Besiktas. The Belgian international is expected to leave the Emirates after the Turkish club agreed a deal worth around £17 million, creating space for a new arrival on the left wing.

Many have compared Tzolis’ potential signing to Arsenal’s successful recruitment of Trossard from Brighton in 2023, believing the Greece international could make a similarly immediate impact.

Should Arsenal finalise the transfer, Tzolis would provide Arteta with greater depth and competition in attack as the Premier League champions prepare to defend their title and compete for Champions League success next season.
