Arsenal Eye Real Madrid Midfielder as Arteta Pushes for Midfield Reinforcement Amid Partey Exit Talks

Mikel Arteta is reportedly very interested in bringing Eduardo Camavinga to the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal consider launching a formal offer for the Real Madrid midfielder.
The Gunners believe a bid in the region of £42 million (€50m) could be enough to tempt the Spanish giants into a deal.
Arsenal have already made strides in strengthening their midfield, having triggered the £51 million release clause for Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. However, with Jorginho leaving on a free transfer and Thomas Partey likely to follow, the club is keen to add further depth and quality in the centre of the pitch.
While Arteta has publicly expressed his admiration for Partey and previously hoped to retain him, recent reports suggest the club has accepted his likely departure. According to CaughtOffside, contract renewal talks with the 32-year-old have stalled. Despite Arsenal offering to match his current £200,000-per-week wage, Partey is reportedly holding out for a pay rise. He is said to have informed the club that he will leave if no improved offer is made.
Camavinga, still just 21, would bring youthful energy, versatility, and top-level experience to Arsenal’s midfield. Although Real Madrid are not actively looking to sell, Arsenal are hopeful that their interest—combined with Camavinga’s limited starting opportunities at the Bernabéu—could help facilitate a move.
ESPN also reports that Arsenal are monitoring the situation closely as they continue to rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
