Arsenal have expressed interest in FC Porto winger Pepe as they explore attacking reinforcements following Thomas Partey’s confirmed departure.

The 27-year-old Brazilian could offer a versatile option for Mikel Arteta, addressing multiple areas of need within the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Arsenal have made initial contact with Porto to assess the conditions of a potential transfer. While the Gunners are reportedly not pursuing a full-scale bid at this stage, they are keen to understand what it would take to bring the winger to North London. The report also claims that Porto would not sanction a loan deal unless a fee is involved, indicating they may prefer a permanent transfer.

Pepe, who has spent the last four years at Estádio do Dragão, has had an inconsistent season, mirroring Porto’s overall struggles. With his future uncertain, Arsenal may see this as an opportunity to strike a smart deal for a player capable of offering depth and flexibility.

The Brazilian is comfortable operating on both flanks and has even filled in as a full-back when required—traits that could help Arteta quietly solve three issues: providing cover for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, strengthening wing-back depth, and bolstering squad rotation.

As Arsenal continue to reshape their midfield and forward lines, Pepe could prove to be a low-profile yet effective addition to support their ambitions in both domestic and European competitions.
