Arsenal defender William Saliba speaks after signing new contract

Arsenal defender William Saliba has extended his contract at the club following reports that linked him with an exit in the recent summer transfer window.

The French defender signed a new deal to continue his stay at the club he joined in 2019.

Saliba has developed into one of the best defenders in world football, making him a key player in manager Mikel Arteta’s squad.

After signing a new contract with the Gunners, William made a new promise to Arsenal and fans to lift major trophies again

Describing his emotions after signing his fresh contract, he said:

“I feel at home. We have a good team, we have a good squad, we have good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it’s the best place to be.

“I enjoy every day when I have the chance to wear this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”

Saliba, who joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne six years ago, has penned a five-year deal with the North London club.

Hopefully, Saliba will be able to end the season by winning a trophy with Arsenal.
