Arsenal could edge out Man Utd in race for Serie A defender

Arsenal will be focused on making new additions in the summer after they failed to lift another title this season.
Aside from being linked with moves for a new attacker, Mikel Arteta also wants to strengthen the Gunners defence line ahead of a new season.
The recent report has claimed the North London club are leading the race to secure a deal for Parma defender Giovanni Leoni.
According to the report, Arsenal are attempting to secure a deal for Leoni following his impressive performance in the Italian Serie A.
Leoni, who is only 18 has already made 12 appearances for Sampdoria in Serie B before featuring on 17 occasions in this season’s Italian top flight.,
The defender played a role in ensuring Parma finish in the 16th spot on the log.
While Leoni’s deal with Parma does not lapse until 2029, his exit seems inevitable as clubs like Arsenal show interest in him.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will have to battle Manchester United and several Italian clubs for Leoni.
But reports claim the Gunners are ahead of the Red Devils in the race to sign Leoni, who can played at right-back or centre-back.
We will have to wait to see if the Gunners can secure a deal for the young defender.
