According to Di Marzio, Arsenal’s offer is a bit below the Bologna’s asking price, but he believes the deal will work out.

The Italian journalist also emphasised Calafiori’s strong preference for Arsenal despite Chelsea also showing interest in him.

The report disclosed that talks between Arsenal and Bologna have been ongoing, with the club demanding an improved bid from the Gunners.

It is said that the current proposal from Arsenal is at €40 million (£33.6 million) plus €10 million (£8.4 million) in bonuses and a sell-on clause, while Bologna are want €50 million (£42 million) plus bonuses and a sell-on.

Should the deal work out, Calafiori will become Arsenal’s third or fourth signing of the summer.
