Arsenal are reportedly open to listening to offers for club captain Martin Odegaard this summer if the right proposal arrives, although any potential departure remains far from certain.

The suggestion has raised eyebrows given Odegaard’s importance to Mikel Arteta’s project since arriving from Real Madrid. The Norwegian midfielder has been a central figure in Arsenal’s rise over recent seasons, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most influential playmakers and a respected leader within the squad.

Arsenal have already begun shaping their plans for the new campaign. The club recently moved to make Piero Hincapie’s stay permanent following his impressive performances, while sporting director Andrea Berta is also focusing on the future after reportedly winning the race to sign highly rated Leicester City prospect Jeremy Monga.

Speculation surrounding Odegaard’s future has intensified amid Arsenal’s continued links with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers and the presence of Eberechi Eze in the squad. The growing competition for attacking midfield positions has inevitably fuelled debate about how Arteta intends to structure his team moving forward.

Odegaard endured a mixed 2025/26 season, with injuries disrupting his rhythm and limiting his influence at various stages of the campaign. While he was not always guaranteed a starting place, he remains a key figure at the Emirates and is contracted to the club until 2028.

Since joining Arsenal, the 27-year-old has contributed 88 goals and assists in 234 appearances, underlining his value to the team. For now, any talk of a summer exit appears speculative, with Arsenal more likely to view him as an important part of their long-term plans.
