A recent report via the UK Express revealed Arsenal and the agents of Nicolas Pepe are in a deadlock over a mutual termination of his contract with the Gunners.

This comes as Turkish club Besiktas who are interested in signing Pepe insisted they would only make a move for him if only the Ivorian becomes a free agent.

The Turkish side will consider alternative targets if the LF360 agency fails to deliver on their promise of freeing the player from the final year of his deal in north London.

In the past, the Gunners indicated they were ready to terminate contracts for the greater good of the club.

However, in Pepe’s case, the Premier League club want to recoup a small fraction of the £72m club-record fee they paid French side Lille to sign him in the summer of 2019.

The report revealed the player’s representatives will hold further talks with Arsenal, as they attempt to twist sporting director Edu’s arm.

Pepe, who has agreed to personal terms with Besiktas was in Nice last season on loan.
