Chelsea confirm Lewis Hall transfer to Newcastle United

Chelsea have confirmed the loan transfer of their young defender Lewis Hall to Newcastle United shortly after their defeat to West Ham over the weekend.

The Blues made the announcement in a statement released via their website on Tuesday morning as they appreciated Hall for his effort at Stamford Bridge.

“We thank Lewis for his contribution at Chelsea and wish him well for the season,” Chelsea’s statement read in part.

The Magpies, however, have an option to make Hall’s loan transfer permanent.

Hall graduated through the Blues academy system at Cobham from the Under-8s level and was part of the side which won the Under-18 Premier League Cup in 2022, his first season as a scholar.

He won a trophy a few months after making his senior debut for the Blues, playing the full 90 minutes in their 5-1 win over Chesterfield at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup third round.
