Manchester United have suffered an injury blow as their summer signing Mason Mount will be on the sidelines till September.

The report revealed the 24-year-old midfielder had sustained a ‘small complaint’ that will keep him out until after the international break.

Mount, who joined the Red Devils from Chelsea this summer, has featured in both of their opening two Premier League fixtures this season against Wolves and Tottenham.

“Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

“The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month,” the statement read in part.

Mount’s injury will give Erik ten Hag some tough time, with Fred having left for Fenerbahce.

Kobbie Mainoo is also sidelined due to an injury he sustained during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.
