Pochettino speaks on Chelsea summer signings, hints at two players the Blues could sign
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has opened up on the club’s moves for new players before the summer transfer window closes.
Pochettino in a statement after the Blues’ 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday hinted the club are working on signing a new defender and midfielder.
Chelsea have been linked with moves to sign Axel Disasi AS Monaco in a deal that could cost them €45m (£38m).
The Argentine manager also revealed Chelsea could sign Lesley Ugochukwu on loan this summer to bolster their midfielder as they have been unsuccessful in their bid to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
“With [Wesley] Fofana’s injury, I think it’s obvious that maybe we need to reinforce this area [defence].
“We need experience in midfield. My information is a player that is from France that they will sign [Lesley Ugochukwu] with the idea for some loan time.
“I don’t know [how many new signings I need] because if I say some numbers, I can create a problem.
“For me, it’s important, the club is working really hard to try and improve all of the areas.”
