Former Chelsea coach in line to become Everton next coach

Former Chelsea coach Frank Lampard is in line to become Everton next manager.

This comes as reports claim Lampard is the leading candidate to replace Rafa Benitez as manager.

Benitez was sacked as coach a few days ago, leaving the Toffees to the hunt for a new coach.

A report via SportsMail claims that Lampard has already held talks with the Everton hierarchy.

While there is no certainty of an appointment soon, there are, however, speculations that if talks go well with Lampard, he could land the job ahead of Vitor Pereira.

Pereira was at the forefront of becoming Everton’s next head coach, and he had arrived in the UK earlier this week to seal the contract effectively.

However, Everton supporters have protested against him becoming their new manager.

The Toffees are hoping to sign a new coach before the weekend as the transfer window closes on Monday at midnight.

Since his sack as Chelsea coach, Lampard is yet to get a coaching job; hopefully, Everton could be his next club.
