Chelsea reportedly offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan to West Ham

The latest report has claimed that Chelsea offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan to West Ham during the recent summer transfer window.

It was revealed that the loan deal was proposed in order to make room for Niguez Saul, who the Blues signed from Atletico Madrid on loan.

Loftus-Cheek, at the start of the ongoing campaign, struggled to perform for Blues but has now been involved in five of his side’s last six matches in all competitions.

In his recent outing for Chelsea, the 25-year-old started against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday and provided an assist in his side’s 3-1 success.

Saul, on the other hand, has found it hard to blend into the Blues style of play and is currently struggling to get more game time at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Sun, Thomas Tuchel’s side offered Loftus-Cheek to West Ham on deadline day in August, but the Hammers turned down the chance to sign him.

Recall that the English player spent last season on loan at Fulham in the Premier League, making 32 appearances in all competitions before returning to Stamford Bridge.

Loftus-Cheek’s current contract with the West London side is due to run until the summer of 2024.
