Even with Ronaldo, Man Utd can’t win the Premier League title this season
Former Man Utd star and football pundit Gary Neville has said the Red Devils can’t win the Premier League title this season even with the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
While he rated the Portuguese star highly and how he has affected the Red Devils squad positively, Neville, however, believes Chelsea and Man City have more edge of winning the EPL title over Man Utd.
According to Neville, Ronaldo’s age can’t be compared to the strength of rivals like Manchester City and Chelsea.
Neville, in a statement with Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme, said Ronaldo does make the team better and also makes the Red Devils more likely to win the title.
“Something inside me tells me that I don’t think he will quite make them the team that will win the title this season. And it’s Chelsea, and it’s City, just in terms of the team,” Neville said.
He added that the introduction of Ronaldo at 36 as a penalty-box striker, which is what he is, doesn’t make the Red Devils a complete enough team to win the title.
In another news, Man Utd will return to action on Tuesday night when they take on Young Boys in the Uefa Champions League.
