The duo of Olivier Giroud and Thiago Silva were not the only ones that got their contract extended, the same also applied to their coach, Thomas Tuchel as the Blues handed him a new deal that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge till 2024.

Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at Chelsea in January and has played a huge role in the club’s development so far.

He helped Chelsea return to the top four on the EPL table after they dropped to the ninth under Lampard.

Tuchel also helped the Blues secure their second UCL trophy vs. Man City a few days ago.

Also, he led the Blues to the FA Cup final, although they lost to Leicester City.

His achievements in less than a year have spurred the Blues to extend his contract.

In an official statement, Chelsea stated that the reason for the extension was based on Tuchel’s impressive performance in only six months, which ended with the club winning their second ever Champions League title under the German.
