Furthermore, Souness figures the Blues should go all out to land prolific finisher Erling Haaland this summer.

Souness revealed to Sky Sports: “Other than having out and out 25-30 goals a season man, Chelsea are very close to the finished article.

“If they get that, they’ll be exceptionally dangerous. If they can land one in the summer you won’t ever know.

“I’m certain the owner would have a go in if he saw any consolation this year that they could be the team to win the large trophies, his eyes are just on the league and the Champions League, Roman Abramovich. I figure he would go once more (and spend huge for Haaland).”

Chelsea boss Tuchel has also warned his fizzling strikers, with Timo Werner short on goal and confidence, they need to show him the club don’t have to bolster their attack this summer.

Tuchel told Goal: “For the following two months, we simply need to figure how we can improve the scoring and the scoring situation, and that’s it, and afterward in the summer we will think further and think along with the club about what solution are the best answers for us.

“Is it the best answer for stay with our squad? Is it the best answer for remain in the solution that we have? Would we be able to improve?

“Would we be able to develop the training pitch exclusively and collectively? To create more chances? These are the issues for June.”
