We are more creative under Tuchel – Caballero

Chelsea goalkeeper, Willy Caballero has compared what the Blues squad played like under former coach, Frank Lampard and new manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Recall that Tuchel took over from Lampard in January after the Blues dropped out from the top four in the Premier League log.

However, since Tuchel took over, the Blues have gained back their form and now back in the top four.

Since joining Chelsea, Tuchel has not lost a match in his last 14 games.

He has also guided Chelsea to the Champions League’s quarter-final and the FA Cup semi-final.

Comparing the two coaches, Caballero noted that Chelsea players are more creative under the German manager than under Lampard.

“Undoubtedly, with Frank, we had a more direct idea of the game, basically English football. To attack fast, attack on the wings, move centrally or attack one side and finish on the other but with quite a bit of verticality,” Caballero told 90min.

He noted that football under Lampard was very dizzying, with quick movements of the ball. He however, noted that the former Chelsea manager also liked attacking and counter-attacking.

Caballero stated that under Tuchel, it is more about combining, playing with the ball.
