Why FA charged Man Utd

Man Utd have found themselves in trouble with the FA following their weekend game against Newcastle United, which ended in a goalless draw.

The latest report revealed Man Utd led by Erik ten Hag have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players.

A highlight from last weekend’s match showed the moment angry Man Utd players surrounded referee Craig Pawson following his decision to rule out what Cristiano Ronaldo thought was the opening goal of the contest.

The FA accused Erik ten Hag’s side of breaching FA Rule E20.1 and the club now has until Thursday to respond to the charge.

Ronaldo thought he had scored his first Premier League goal of the season during the early stages of the second half of the match at Old Trafford.

But Newcastle United seemed to take a free-kick deep inside their half when Fabian Schar tapped the ball back to Nick Pope, apparently intending for the goalkeeper to take the set-piece.
