As Manchester United woes continue, former player Patrice Evra, has sent a message to manager Ruben Amorim on a strategic action he should take.

Evra advised Amorim to strip the captain’s armband from Bruno Fernandes as pressure mounts on the player.

Recall that the Portugal midfielder was made captain by former Erik ten Hag in 2023, after he stripped Harry Maguire of the role.

While Fernandes is considered one of Man United’s best players on the pitch, his leadership skills have come been heavily criticised

Graeme Souness in a statement had described the 30-year-old as a liability, after he was shown a third red card of the season in the Boxing Day defeat at Wolves.

As the Red Devils undergo one of the lowest points in their history, Amorim had stated that his side were “starving for leaders on the pitch”.

Amorim made the comment after he revealed that he has given the approval for Maguire’s contract to be extended.
