Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag has applauded English defender Harry Maguire over his impressive form vs FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Maguire scored the lone goal for the Red Devils through a header.

After making two changes to his starting XI after their win over Sheffield United in the EPL, Erik brought in both Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon for the visit of the Danish champions.

The former partnered Maguire in defence as Man Utd kept a clean sheet, with Harry also netting his first United goal since February 2022, when he scored against Leeds United.

Ten Hag applauded the England international, insisting his recent showings have certainly impressed.

“I think so, he is playing more proactive in possession,” added the boss.

“Stepping in, passing vertical, defending on the front foot and also stepping in, passing vertical.

“Defending on the front foot, he is also stepping in and playing forward. Very confident in the duels, I think he is dominating.

“Also in the right moments, he is showing his aggression against the opponents. Then, you see he is also rewarded because of his heading.

“I have to say it is a great pass from Christian [Eriksen], but it was a great finish.”
