The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh bin Hamad Al Thani, has dropped his interest in buying EPL giants Manchester United following further discussions with the Glazer family about buying the club 100 per cent.

This comes as the Glazers family turned down Sheikh Jassim’s bid proposition making the Emir withdraw from the process.

This claim was made by respected football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Saturday.

He tweeted: “Glazers informed of Sheikh Jassim’s decision — he has WITHDRAWN from the process. Final bid understood to be almost double than $3.5B market valuation. $1.5B extra investment was planned.

“Sheikh Jassim has presented fully cash bid, clearing all old debt, with zero new debt, for 100% of the Club. Sheikh Jassim’s team declined to comment on this news citing “confidentiality restrictions”, but have confirmed they’ve withdrawn from the process.”
