Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed out-of-favour winger Jesse Lingard to rejuvenate his United career during his loan spell at West Ham United.

Jesse Lingard rose to spotlight after breaking into United first team from the reserve team playing under the likes of David Moyes and Jose Mourinho.

However, the England international has been having a tough time this season as he’s been forced to spend majority of the time on the bench.

Lingard has made just three appearances in all competitions for United this term and it wasn’t surprising when West Ham United made contact with Manchester United about his availability.

With the winger set to be unveiled in the next few hours, Solskjaer stated that he wants Jesse to come back to Old Trafford revitalised and having shown at West Ham how good a player he is.

Solskjaer stated that he’s just been unfortunate with a couple of issues, some periods that he had to stay away from the team with the Covid and isolation.

The United manager added that during Lingard’s spell out of the team the rest of the team has done well and they’ve had little to no injuries.

On the way forward for Lingard, Solskjaer stated that he just wants him to go to West Ham and enjoy himself, show how good a player he is and come back as a Man United player.
