Manchester United have suffered a major blow as they will be without their summer signing Leny Yoro for some period barely a few weeks into the start of a new season.

The Red Devils confirmed the latest update on Yoro’s health status in a statement on Monday.

According to the report, the defender is now expected to be out of action for three months.

Recall that Yoro only joined Man United from French side Lille last month for an initial fee of £52 million.

The 18-year-old defended, however, picked up an injury in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal in the USA.

After the match against the Gunners, Yoro was spotted on crutches, with his left foot in a protective boot.

This means he wouldn’t be available when the Red Devils take on Man City in the Community Shield this weekend.

Also, he wouldn’t have a chance to bond with the rest of the Red Devils squad as expected.

Man Utd had sign Yoro to bolster their defence for the new season and had splashed millions to seal his transfer.

The defender being out for weeks is not a good start for the Red Devils who want to compete for trophies in the soon to commence season.
