Manchester United have suffered an injury blow ahead of the new season.

This comes as the Red Devils on Thursday confirmed that their winger Amad Diallo sustained a knee injury and will miss the first part of their 2023/24 Premier League season.

This means Diallo will not be available for Man United’s Premier League opener against Wolves on August 14 at Old Trafford.

The Ivory Coast star sustained a knee injury during Man United’s tour of the United States, which affect his chances of having an impact in Erik ten Hag’s squad next season.

Man United’s statement reads in part: “Manchester United winger Amad will miss the first part of the Premier League season.

“It is a blow to the youngster’s hopes of making his mark, after being involved in the earlier stages of our pre-season campaign.

“We would like to wish Amad a speedy return to action.”
