Man Utd Eye Bargain Double Transfer as Real Madrid Pulls Out of Rabiot Race

Manchester United is reportedly in a strong position to secure two free agents amidst competition from Premier League rivals and Real Madrid.

The club has already welcomed striker Joshua Zirkzee and center-back Leny Yoro to Old Trafford this summer, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe recognizes the need for further reinforcements to keep pace with Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

United has engaged in talks for several targets, including Manuel Ugarte, Sander Berge, Youssouf Fofana, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt.

However, negotiations for Ugarte with Paris Saint-Germain fell through, and discussions with Bayern Munich regarding Mazraoui and De Ligt have proven challenging.

De Ligt remains a priority, especially following Yoro’s injury, but Manchester United is also pursuing Spanish defender Mario Hermoso, having reportedly made official contact following his departure from Atletico Madrid.

Hermoso is available on a free transfer, which makes him an attractive option for the club. He is seeking a three-year contract worth approximately €6 million per year (around £99,000 per week), a figure within United’s budget.

While Tottenham and Aston Villa have shown interest, United appears to be in pole position to finalize a deal for Hermoso.

In addition to Hermoso, United is also looking to bolster their midfield, with Adrien Rabiot as a key target.

Reports indicate that both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have withdrawn from the race for the 29-year-old, increasing United’s chances of securing his signature.

Rabiot has expressed a preference for a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

United’s past attempts to sign Rabiot have been unsuccessful, but the current circumstances present a favorable opportunity.

After a successful season with Juventus, where he played a crucial role in winning the Coppa Italia and securing a Champions League spot, Rabiot’s potential acquisition could strengthen United’s midfield significantly.
