Five players join Man Utd squad ahead of game Vs Man City

Manchester United have been handed a major boost ahead of their their weekend game against rivals Manchester City.

This comes as five players have joined Manchester United’s squad at Carrington as they prepare to play Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Community Shield on Saturday.

The Red Devils made this public in a statement on their official website on Monday.

The five players are Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Facundo Pellistri and Luke Shaw.

They all resumed for testing at Carrington after the end of tournaments with their respective homes countries.

The five players are the last members of Man United’s international team who were away on their summer breaks participating in the 2024 Euro and Copa America.

Four players, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Altay Bayindir and Alejandro Garnacho, returned to Old Trafford over the weekend.

The Red Devils led by manager Erik ten Hag will hope to start the new season with a win against Man City in the Community Shield.

Recall that Man Utd defeated Man City in the final to lift the FA Cup last season as Ten Hag managed to retain his job at Old Trafford.

The match between the neighbours is expected to be an interesting one to watch.
