Fernandes speaks on his role as Amorim’s coach on pitch
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes in a recent statement spoke about his new role under manager Ruben Amorim.
Fernandes disclosed that part of his job now including him helping his teammates understand the tactical demands of their new manager Amorim.
Recall that Amorim in a post-match statement after the Red Devils’ draw with Ipswich in his debut game as manager, claimed Man United will “suffer” while the team adapts to his system.
Fernandes in an interview with the press on Wednesday, said he is hoping to speed up the process by being a coach on the pitch.
The Red Devils captain said he is aware of what they do in training as he tries to absorb everything from every position.
He stressed that while it not easy to grab everything, he tries to have an idea of the game as captain because sometimes the manager cannot give the message from the bench to the pitch because of the noise, among others.
“You have to be able to try and solve the situation together with your teammates. Knowing, or having the knowledge of every position” he said.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will return to action in the Europa League later tonight.
