Manchester United returned to action on Monday night in the Premier League when they the Wolves in a game which saw the Red Devils lose all three points.

Harry Maguire was out of the squad owing to injury thus,  making the Red Devils coach Ralf Ranick hand Cristiano Ronaldo the captain band.

However, Rangnick has been faulted for his decision by former Man Utd star Pau Ince, who believes the Portugal star should not have gotten the captain band.

Ince, in his statement, felt Scott McTominay was more deserving of the armband in Maguire’s absence.

Ince said on Sky Sports: “If you were to give it to someone, if I was Rangnick I’d give it to McTominay.

“He’s 25, it would be a nice learning curve for him. Now, why give it to Ronaldo when everyone’s moaning about him walking off the pitch everytime United get beaten and not clapping the fans.

“It’s also about setting an example and I think the way McTominay is playing, give it to him – let him have a go.”
