Former Man Utd star names favourite club to win EPL, UCL this season

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, in a recent statement has predicted Liverpool to win both the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League titles this campaign.

Ferdinand made the prediction while speaking on TNT after the Reds defeated current UCL holders and Spanish giants Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield.

Following the match result, manager Arne Slot’s men are now top of the league phase with a maximum 15 points.

Like in the UCL, Liverpool are also leading in the Premier League with 31 points, eight more than second-placed and current title holder, Manchester City

Ferdinand said Liverpool have put ‘the gauntlet down top’ all the other teams in Europe.

According to the former Man Utd star, the Reds are the in-form team.

“I said before the game, Arne Slot will have wanted to see what his team could produce against a team of this magnitude,” Ferdinand said.

He added that if he could put his money on a team that would win the Premier League and Champions League, he would stake his bet on Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the Reds have been impressive under Slot who took charge this season as a replacement for manager Jurgen Klopp.
