Benfica boss affirms offer dismissed for Liverpool and Man United target

Benfica has rejected down an offer for striker Carlos Vinicius, says Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira

Reports state Liverpool and Man United are excited about the 25-year-old, who has scored 20 goals and 12 assists this season.

Man United have purportedly allocated £35million for a move, however Benfica supposedly want to wait another year before selling so that they could get more money for him.

In any case, Vieira has stood up in the midst of the hypothesis and said an approach – from a unidentified club – has been made.

I got a proposal of £53.45m for Vinicius and didn’t sell. He is valued at €100m,’ the club president told BTV (via Liverpool Echo).

Jimenez, who moved to Wolves at first on loan two summers prior, has become the club’s main thrust going ahead in the previous two seasons.

Vinicius, then, began his career in his local Brazil before moving to Europe in 2017 with Real SC.

The forward has since spent time at Napoli and Monaco ahead of his move to Benfica a year ago.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs attacking fortifications in the next transfer window, however his plans have purportedly changed.

Odion Ighalo extended his loan deal on Monday with the club, which has pushed the requirement for another striker down Solskjaer’s lists of needs.
