Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, in a recent statement said it is “unfortunate” that his summer signing Erling Haaland will not be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar set to commence in November.

Haaland will be absent at this year’s world tournament as his home country Norway failed to qualify.

Guardiola has now revealed the plans he has for members of his squad that will be left behind when Qatar 2022 kicks off.

“Maybe for ten days or two weeks we will go off and be with family then come back.

“Then two weeks to reignite our rhythms after the World Cup.

“Erling would prefer to go to the World Cup with Norway but unfortunately he cannot go. But two years there’s the Euros and now he can focus on his club,” Guardiola said.

Haaland has put up some stunning performances in the premier league since joining Man City from German side Borussia Dortmund in the recent summer transfer window.
