Why Raya shouldn’t join Arsenal

Former Arsenal star Perry Groves has advised Brentford goalkeeper David Raya against moving to Emirates Stadium this summer.

According to Groves, Raya would struggle for game time at the club as the Gunners already have an established goalkeeper in the form of Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal Mikel Arteta has shown interest in signing Raya, who is rated at around £40 million for the Gunners this summer.

Arsenal want Raya to provide some competition to Ramsdale for the No. 1 jersey.

Aside from Arsenal, Raya, 27, has also been linked with a move to German side Bayern Munich, who consider him a worthy replacement for Manuel Neuer.

Grove told talkSPORT: “David Raya, no way would he go to Arsenal because Aaron Ramsdale is the established No. 1, and David Raya has been so brilliant for Brentford.

“Raya wouldn’t go there to be a number two to see if he could oust Aaron Ramsdale, would he? He hasn’t got that time in his career.”
