Napoli sporting director, Mauro Meluso has reacted to the reports of the club selling Victor Osimhen in January.

Meluso in his statement dismissed the speculation, stating that the striker would remain at Napoli.

It is no news that Osimhen has been linked with a move away from the Serie A club amid reports linking him to Chelsea, among other top European clubs.

This comes after the recent row between Osimhen and the club as the 22-year-old was irritated after the club shared two TikTok videos mocking him for missing a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Bologna.

The reports revealed Napoli were also angered after the striker returned from the recent international break injured.

So far, Both parties are also yet to reach an agreement on a new contract which stirred rumours about Osimhen’s future.

Meluso, however, said there is no chance the Naples will let the striker or any of their key player leave in January.

“No, no way. Absolutely not,” Meluso said when asked about top players like Osimhen leaving in January.

“Our squad is very good and we feel relaxed. Of course we can improve it but we will discuss this topic later.”
