Chelsea’s summer transfer have raised eyebrows in some quarters which has now made the English Premier Club chiefs tell the club to prove they are not owned by Saudi Arabia.

This is coming as three Chelsea stars are “on the verge” of moving to the Saudi Pro League.

While the Blues midfielder N’Golo Kante has signed for Al-Ittihad on a free transfer after his Chelsea contract expired, the trio of Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are all set to move to the Middle East with the Frenchman.

Koulibaly is expected to join Al-Hilal, Ziyech is heading to Al-Nassr while Mendy is on his way to Al-Ahli.

The transfers from Chelsea to the Middle East clubs have caused concern.

The Telegraph reported that English Premier League chiefs have demanded that Chelsea provide them with proof that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) was not part of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s takeover last summer.

Chelsea have since dismissed the claim by providing the necessary proof that there is no conflict of interest.
