Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has opened up on why some players didn’t play vs Bournemouth on Sunday.

Pochettino in a post-match statement confirmed why three Blues namely Marc Cucurella, Noni Madueke and Moises Caicedo, who were not previously on the injury list weren’t involved at the Vitality Stadium.

According to Pochettino, Cucurella had a fever, and Madueke and Caicedo returned from the international break with a muscle problem and knock respectively.

The manager said in a statement released via Chelsea’s website:

‘Marc Cucurella had a fever yesterday so was at home and not training, and today it continued.

‘Noni Madueke came back from his national team with a muscle problem. Moises Caicedo came back with a knock to his knee. We need to assess them tomorrow, but that is why they was not available, along with another 10 or 11 players who were missing.’

The game against Bournemouth ended in a 0-0 draw for the Blues.
