Why Chelsea wouldn’t win against Tottenham if they play this two players

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has claimed that Chelsea won’t beat Tottenham Hotspur when they meet this weekend if January signings Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke start.

He believes Graham Potter’s led Blues side can win 3-0 in the Premier League this weekend if they pick his preferred team [see below].

“This is the starting XI I hope Potter goes with: Kepa, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva, Enzo Fernandez, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz and Joao Felix,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“If this team plays, they will beat Tottenham 3-0. If he plays Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, they won’t beat Spurs.”

It is quite wrong for Merson to single out Maduaeke and Mudryk when the whole of the Blues squad except for Silva have been struggling for form this season.

Meanwhile, there are claims that the future of Potter as Chelsea’s manager hinges on the outcome of their weekend game against Tottenham.

The former Brighton boss will hope to win all three points against Tottenham amid the intense pressure that has been mounted on him
