West Ham vs Chelsea: Owen gives prediction

West Ham will on Saturday host Chelsea in a London derby in the English Premier League.

The Blues will be heading to the game after a narrow win vs Watford during the midweek.

While Chelsea remain at the top of the league table, winning their match vs the Hammers is important to their continued dominance of the EPL.

Ahead of the match, former England football star Michael Owen has predicted what the outcome of the match could be like.

Owen predicted a win for Chelsea as he expects Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku to return to action for the Blues against the Hammers.

Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “What a game to start the Premier League weekend! David Moyes must have been gutted to have conceded such a late equaliser to Brighton and West Ham are on a poor run of form at the minute. The good news is that they remain firmly in the top four race, but they need to start picking up more points.

“It wasn’t a dominating victory, but Wednesday’s win over Watford was vital for Chelsea. My only concern at the minute for them is the number of goals they are scoring. Lukaku is still working his way back to full fitness, so they need him back fit and firing.

“This will be a very even game, but I can see Chelsea narrowly edging it, 2-1.”
