Premier League club West Ham United are keen on signing Nigerian star Victor Boniface in the ongoing January transfer window.

The report via The Sun revealed West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten is pushing massively to sign the Bayer Leverkusen attacker.

However, the Hammers will face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United, who have been linked with Boniface.

Further reports revealed West Ham have reportedly lost faith in Michail Antonio and Danny Ings who are their current first-team forwards at the moment and are determined to sign a replacement.

West Ham’s record signing is Sébastien Haller, whom they they bought for €50million.

There are speculations that they are prepared to break that figure for Boniface’s signature.

Boniface has been one of Bayer Leverkusen’s key players this season, having scored 16 goals across all competitions for his team.
