We are frustrated – Chelsea defender reacts to defeat against Brentford
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has reacted to their latest loss at Stamford Bridge to their neighbours Brentford on Saturday in the Premier League.
Although the Blues dominated the game, the Blues were more ruthless to claim all three points, thanks to second-half goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbuemo, with the latter coming deep into stoppage time following a break from our corner.
Colwill, who played alongside Thiago Silva in central defence, felt Chelsea were unlucky.
The defender was also left frustrated at Chelsea’s inability to turn chances into goals, particularly in the first half while we were well on top.
‘We’re very frustrated,’ Levi stated when reflecting on the defeat.
‘In the first half, we completely dominated and we had a good few chances to score.
‘We should have been in front at half-time and realistically, we should have put the game to bed. Credit to Brentford, they did their thing and stuck to their game-plan of sitting in. Then, when they had the opportunity at the other end, they took it.
‘There have been a few games like that now and it’s very frustrating. It’s tough to take and when you are creating chances but not scoring, you always have that feeling at the back of your head that they could get a chance and nick something.
‘You have to stay switched on but unfortunately Brentford got in and put their chances away to get the win.
‘We’re really disappointed with the outcome of the game but all we can do is learn from this, improve and build on this. We’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up but hopefully we can pick up some points.’
