Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has insisted that it’s wrong to compare his partnership with John Terry to that of Harry Maguire and John Stones.

Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are ranked among top football defenders, with superstars winning trophies with their respective clubs.

The former United defender, while speaking on the England YouTube channel, was asked to comment on Maguire’s current collaboration with John Stones, and he was not too pleased with this.

According to Rio Ferdinand, it’s unreasonable to compare his and Terry’s double act to Stones and Maguire’s alliance.

He stated that the partnership between John Stones and Harry Maguire complement each other very well.

However, it’s hard to compare things like that as it’s unfair on them because they haven’t played enough games together.

Ferdinand insisted that the more they play together, the more people can make that judgment and comparison.

The former United defender praised the pair stating that Stones is comfortable on the ball while Maguire is as comfortable if not more at times.

John Stones and Harry Maguire are set to continue their partnership at the back when England take on Germany in their Euro 2020 round of 16 clashes.
