Real Madrid star Eden Hazard will be fit to face Chelsea in the upcoming Champions League semi-final first leg, with Zinedine Zidane backing the Belgium international to have a significant effect – regardless of whether from the bench.

Eden Hazard has persevered through an injury plagued time at Real Madrid since his £89million move from Chelsea in 2019, but will be in squad for Tuesday’s clash subsequent to making his comeback from a most recent muscle issue in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Real Betis.

Zidane affirmed: He played 15-20 minutes a few days ago and was very acceptable. Interestingly, he didn’t feel anything after about his concern.

He is glad since he will add to the team a ton.

Raphael Varane added: I have talked with him, he is very inspired to play in a Champions League semi-final. It propels any football player and if you play against a former club, I accept that is an additional inspiration.

We realize the quality he has and he needs to demonstrate that on the pitch and help the team.

Real Madrid’s preparations for the upcoming game have been dominated by their involvement in the failed European Super League plans.

There have been ideas they could even be kicked out of this present season’s Champions League as punishment.

However, Zidane said: It is silly to imagine that we won’t be in the Champions League one year from now. That is it – everything has been said.

The Real Madrid boss was full of praise of Thomas Tuchel’s effect at Chelsea, adding: It’s a semi-final, obviously it will be an unpredictable match. The most difficult match is the next match.

I don’t think it will be a closed game, Chelsea is a complete team. They defend appropriately and they attack appropriately.

We have to focus and whenever we create an opportunities like we have been doing, we need to see our best form so can hurt Chelsea.
