UEFA Champions League player of the season unvieled

European football body UEFA has named Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior the Champions League Player of the Season for the 2023/2024 campaign.

This was made public in a statement released by the UEFA’s Technical Observer panel on Monday.

Recall thatVinicius put up an impressive display when he scored the second goal as the Los Blancos defeated German club Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to lift the UCL trophy last Saturday.

The Brazil star scored a total six goals for the Spanish club in the European competition.

Vinicius in a statement after the Los Blancos’ win against said he was very happy to be able to win another Champions League with Real Madrid, a club, which has given him so much.

Speaking about the UCL trophy, the Brazil international said it’s an incredible thing as not everyone can experience it and win it so many times.

Following their recent victory against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid now 15 Champions League titles to their name, more than any other football club in Europe.

Going by the Los Blancos current squad, they are favourites to clinch the trophy again next season.
